I'm often asked how much I charge for my copywriting or marketing services. This may seem an easy question to answer, but it's not that simple. Each project is "Taylor made," so before I can give you a quote, I need to understand exactly what you want. Are you looking for someone to provide SEO copywriting for your website or blog, carefully crafted copy for your product brochure, or do you need help with your social media or marketing strategy?
6 easy steps to great copy
The first step is to discuss your copywriting or marketing project requirements. This can be over the phone, by video or in person and will give me an understanding of the project, the tone of voice you require, your industry, competitors, your target audience and what your objectives are. If this is the first time we’ve worked together, I may also send you a Copywriting Brief to gain more in-depth information on your company, competitors and USPs.
Once I understand the scope of the project, I’ll send you a quote which will include my time, research and copy revisions. I charge by the project based on my experience of similar work and how long I think it will take to complete the assignment. My prices are in line with the ProCopywriters suggested rates which are based on the 2021 annual survey.
If you’re happy with my quote, I will email you a contract of work which will outline the project, completion date and cost. For new clients, I ask for a 50% upfront payment.
Once I receive your signed contract of work, I will begin my research and then send you my first draft by the agreed deadline.
This is your opportunity to make comments and request any changes. I’ll modify the copy based on your
amendments and send you a second draft. I’m happy to continue tweaking the draft, within reason, until you’re happy with the copy
Once you’re happy with the work and sign the project off, I’ll send you my final invoice. Payment is due within 14 days of receiving the final version.
